EPISODE 19: IIFA Day One: A Press Conference & Movie Premiere Night
Day One kicks off with the opening media press conference at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel midday.
In attendance: Anupam Kher, Subhash Ghai,Dia Mirza, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Sonu Nigam and Anil Kapoor, Jermaine Jackson & Premier Dalton McGuinty.
Premier Dalton McGuinty was the first to welcome Indian cinema to Toronto's mainstream media by taking center stage to give his inauguration address. "Prepared to be awed, amazed, energized and moved," he said, inviting Torontonians to take in "the magic" and embrace the "stories that bring us together.
Jermaine Jackson admitted to have watched Bollywood films as a kid every weekend and the Jackson 5's colourful outfits were inspired by Bollywood. Who knew!
Evening: SilverCity Cinemas in Brampton for the evening's star-studded event: the green carpet world premiere of Double Dhamaal.
